We're candy nuts. We love all kinds of candy, but we especially love candy bars. There's something that's just magical when the right mix of flavors and textures combine in a sweet, chocolate covered snack.
Growing up, we guiltlessly consumed gobs and gobs of different candy bars, and have been hooked ever since. We didn't know anything about how the bars were made, what was in them, or how any of the ingredients were grown. All we knew was they were tasty.
Unfortunately, like most people, as we've grown up, we've learned that what you put in your body matters. It matters for your health, it matters for the health of people producing it, and it matters for the health of the planet. There was just too much wrong with the way our favorite old candy bars were made to be able to feel good about eating them anymore.
It's hard to give up old habits, especially delicious ones, so we decided that instead of giving up candy bars, we'd just create ones that had all of the deliciousness of our old favorites (maybe even a little bit extra) but none of the guilt.
By making our bars Certified Organic and Fair Trade, we can indulge in a delicious treat, knowing that no toxic herbicides or pesticides were used to grow any of the ingredients, that our candy bars do not support child labor or slavery, that no one is drilling oil wells to get fertilizer to grow our ingredients, and that no harmful runoff from our ingredients is ending up in our fisheries or our drinking water.
